The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite credit card earns an unlimited 3 Atmos Rewards points per dollar on all foreign currency purchases. The Points Guy (TPG) values this return at 4.65 cents per dollar spent abroad based on their September 2026 valuation of the points.

Eligible Bank of America account holders receive a 10% rewards bonus, boosting the earning rate to 3.3 points per dollar on foreign transactions. TPG states this enhanced rate is worth about 5.12 cents per dollar. The card's $395 annual fee is offset by a welcome offer of 80,000 bonus points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award after spending $4,000 in the first 90 days.

Why the foreign purchase rate stands out

The Summit card's blanket 3x earning on all foreign spending eliminates the need to track merchant categories or activate bonuses while traveling. TPG contributing editor Matt Moffitt, who relocated to Spain, now uses the card for all non-dining purchases abroad. He notes that while the American Express Gold Card earns 4 points per dollar on dining worldwide, Amex acceptance outside the U.S. Can be inconsistent, an issue not faced with the Summit's Visa network.

Comparison with other premium airline cards

The Summit card's comprehensive foreign transaction reward is not matched by competing cards with similar annual fees, which typically offer bonus earnings only in select categories. The following table compares key earning rates for international spending.

CardAnnual FeeKey Earning Rates for International Spending
Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite$3953 points per $ on all foreign transactions, dining, Alaska & Hawaiian Airlines purchases.
Citi / AAdvantage Globe Mastercard$3502 miles per $ on dining and eligible "Rides and Rails"; 1 mile per $ on other purchases.
Delta SkyMiles Platinum Amex Card$3502 miles per $ on restaurants worldwide; 1 mile per $ on other eligible purchases.
United Quest Card$3502 miles per $ on dining and other travel; 1 mile per $ on all other purchases.

None of these competitor cards comprehensively reward routine overseas spending like groceries, transport, or shopping, according to the source.

Additional card benefits and redemptions

Beyond the earning structure, the Summit card's Global Companion Award provides a discount of up to 25,000 points on a second passenger's ticket when booking two people with points. The award is valid for travel on Alaska Airlines and all its redemption partners, including Hawaiian Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, and others, in any cabin. Other benefits include anniversary status points, a pathway to elite status, lounge and Wi-Fi passes, a waived same-day confirmed flight change fee, and free checked bags on Alaska and Hawaiian flights.

The Atmos Rewards program, born from the merger of Alaska and Hawaiian airlines, uses an award chart inherited from Alaska's Mileage Plan. It offers numerous partner redemption sweet spots. For example, an American Airlines flight under 700 miles costs 4,500 points, while Hawaiian Airlines economy from the West Coast to Hawaii starts at 10,000 points. Aer Lingus business class to Ireland begins at 45,000 points, and Japan Airlines business class from the West Coast to Tokyo or Fiji Airways business class to Fiji can be booked for 75,000 points.
