Loyalty: The Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard now carries a $695 annual fee after a recent refresh

The Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard's annual fee increased to $695 following a refresh in August. According to The Points Guy, the card now offers new benefits that must be maximized to offset the higher cost.

New cardholders can earn 125,000 bonus miles after spending $15,000 in the first five months. The Points Guy values this bonus at approximately $1,813 based on its September 2026 valuations, calling it the highest offer seen for this card.

Lounge Access

The card's most valuable ongoing perk is a complimentary Admirals Club membership. A standalone membership costs between $750 and $1,400 annually. Cardholders can access nearly 50 Admirals Clubs and over 60 partner lounges worldwide when flying American Airlines or a Oneworld partner. This includes Alaska Lounges in key hubs like Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Cardholders can bring immediate family or up to two guests, who need only a same-day boarding pass for any American or Oneworld flight.

Travel and Elite Benefits

The card provides several travel perks on American Airlines flights. These include priority check-in and boarding for the cardholder and up to eight companions on the same reservation. It also offers a first checked bag free on domestic itineraries, saving at least $45 per bag.

Other travel benefits include a statement credit of up to $120 for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fees. The card also grants elite status with Omni Hotels and Avis President's Club. It includes various travel protections and has no foreign transaction fees.

For those pursuing AAdvantage elite status, the card earns 1 Loyalty Point per mile from purchases. It also provides 10,000 bonus Loyalty Points upon reaching four specific milestones in a status qualification year.

Statement Credits and Earning Rates

The card offers several annual statement credits. The author notes that their value depends heavily on personal spending habits.

  • Up to $500 in American Airlines Vacations credits, split into two $250 six-month periods.
  • Up to $180 in Lyft credits, requiring three eligible rides per month to unlock a $15 credit.
  • Up to $120 in Avis or Budget rental credits.
  • Up to $100 for eligible American Airlines inflight and Admirals Club purchases.

The report cautions that credits for car rentals and Lyft can be difficult to use reliably. The American Airlines Vacations credit requires booking packages with at least two travel components.

For earning miles, the card provides accelerated rates on specific purchases.

The Points Guy values AAdvantage miles at 1.45 cents each, higher than United or Delta miles. The author cites a personal redemption of 70,000 miles plus $174 for a Qatar Airways Qsuite business class flight from Doha to Houston, which they valued at 5.6 cents per mile.

Authorized User Access

Up to three authorized users can be added for a total of $175, with each additional user costing $175. Authorized users receive Admirals Club access for themselves and up to two guests when presenting a same-day boarding pass, though this is access rather than a full membership.

The card's value is tied to Admirals Club access and the welcome bonus. The author states, "if you value Admirals Club access, priority perks on American flights and a large welcome bonus, this card can easily justify its fee."
