Delta Air Lines announced enhancements to its SkyMiles for Business Elite program on Wednesday. The Atlanta-based carrier said the changes focus on providing more proactive support and increased flexibility for managing business travel plans.

According to the airline, the move reflects its commitment to helping businesses manage their travel spending. The announcement was made during Delta's annual SPOTLIGHT event for elite members and agency partners.

Proactive Support and Account Reviews

Delta plans to expand its SkyMiles for Business Solutions service for every elite traveler. A key change involves annual outreach and customized Account Reviews initiated by the airline's account teams, rather than being triggered by traveler requests.

These reviews will provide a detailed analysis of program performance, including earning activities and redemption strategies. They will also assess how travelers are using their benefits and identify ways to gain more value from the program. Account team members can offer personalized recommendations based on insights from these reviews.

Delta stated that the experience is designed to work alongside agency relationships, with partners encouraged to participate in the reviews with their clients.

New Flexibility Tools for Travel Changes

Starting in early 2027, Business Elite travelers will have access to unlimited name changes on tickets, subject to a fee. This is intended to give companies more flexibility to reassign travelers when business needs shift.

To help manage these fees, Delta is introducing a Service Points benefit. Travelers will receive a dedicated allocation of Service Points that can be used to waive name change fees. These points can also be used for other servicing needs.

The airline listed several potential uses for Service Points in its announcement.

Agency partners can submit Service Point requests on behalf of business travelers through Delta's Global Sales Solutions team. Delta explained that Service Points give customers greater control over how flexibility benefits are applied across their travel program.

Program Background and Eligibility

The latest enhancements build on previous benefits introduced for business travelers. In 2025, Delta launched the ability to transfer the value of unused eligible tickets to a Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) account for future use.

SkyMiles for Business is open to small and medium-sized enterprises in the United States and Canada. Members earn miles on Delta-operated flights and with partner airlines Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and Aeromexico.

The program was named a Magellan Awards Gold winner in 2025 for overall Best Small Business Airline. This marked its second consecutive win since launching in late 2023.
