JetBlue expands lounge access
JetBlue will open its Boston BlueHouse lounge to more passengers, according to a report by PaxEx.aero. The lounge, which is 33% larger than the JFK lounge at 12,000 square feet, will start welcoming passengers on 27 August.
The new lounge will offer premium food and beverage, as well as nods to the local culture, and will have an exclusive access policy. Introduction to BlueHouse
The Boston BlueHouse lounge is part of JetBlue's efforts to upgrade its ground experience for premium travelers. With the introduction of the new Mint Base fare family, the airline is also changing its access policy for the lounge. Previously, only transatlantic Mint itineraries had access to the lounge, but now all Mint and Mint Flex passengers will be able to use the facility.
Changes to Mint Fares
The new Mint Base fare type will not allow complimentary advanced seat selection nor ticket changes, and will not permit access to the BlueHouse lounge. This is a change from the previous policy, where all Mint passengers had access to the lounge. According to PaxEx.aero, JetBlue expects that most passengers will buy up to the regular Mint fare to avoid the limitations of the basic business class ticket.
BlueHouse Access Pricing
The pricing for BlueHouse access has also been formally published by JetBlue. Mosaic 4 and JetBlue Premier credit card holders will continue to get complimentary access for themselves and one free guest, plus additional guests at $39/visit. Mosaic 3 members can purchase access for $59/visit, while JetBlue Plus/Business credit card holders and Mosaic 1/2 members can pay $79 for access. The access pricing can be compared as follows:
