Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Lounge Review: Amenities and Access
Qatar Airways' massive Al Mourjan Business Lounge 'The Garden' at Doha Hamad International Airport offers extensive 24-hour facilities.

Qatar Airways' Al Mourjan Business Lounge, known as 'The Garden', provides extensive amenities at Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) but faces service inconsistencies. The lounge, which opened in April 2023, offers complimentary 24-hour access to Qatar Airways business class passengers on Classic, Comfort, or Elite fares and to other oneworld first and business class travelers.
Access is granted to Qatar Airways first and business class travelers and oneworld premium cabin passengers. Status alone, including oneworld Sapphire or Emerald, does not qualify for entry. Qatar has separate lounges for passengers entering on the basis of status when flying in economy or premium economy class. Eligible guests can enter via elevators near the Louis Vuitton store in the northern terminal expansion, and eligible passengers can also purchase access to the lounge. An eligible business class award ticket provides access.
Size, layout and facilities
The lounge overlooks The Orchard, an indoor tropical garden, and covers 7,390 square meters, spanning nearly 80,000 square feet with a capacity for 707 passengers. It includes a gym with two treadmills, one exercise bike, one elliptical, and some medicine balls. Spa facilities include a Dior Spa and a separate spa area where treatments cost extra.
| Facility | Details |
|---|---|
| Quiet Rooms | 24 rooms with reclining loungers (not proper beds) |
| Gym Equipment | 2 treadmills, 1 exercise bike, 1 elliptical, medicine balls |
| Shower Suites | Walk-in shower and washbasin (no private toilet) |
| Family Areas | Private family rooms, children’s area, games room with pool and fußball tables |
Other amenities include restrooms, a separate shower area, lockers for baggage storage, a smoking room, and a Muslim prayer room with ablution facilities. The lounge offers both buffet and a la carte dining, with lighter options at its deli and bistro areas. Hot and cold selections, sushi, salads, soups, pastries, and desserts are available. There are staffed bars with espresso machines for barista-made coffee and self-service coffee machines. A separate Louis Vuitton-branded dining space within the complex offers food and drinks for purchase. Charging points are throughout, including wireless charging at some seats.
Reviewer experience and service issues
One reviewer with a connection of 7 hours and 55 minutes, which extended due to early arrival, did not qualify for Qatar’s complimentary transit hotel as the connection was just below the eight-hour threshold. The reviewer experienced disappointing service at dinner despite being the only person in the restaurant area. They waited, were ignored by staff at the bar and passing by, and had to flag down a fifth staff member to take an order for a crisp green salad and mint lemon juice to start. Service during dinner was inconsistent despite high-quality food, and staff responsiveness varied during peak hours.
Practical considerations for travelers
Passengers should reserve quiet rooms early as they fill quickly and no alternatives exist nearby. Poor service during meals may disrupt rest or work plans. A fellow passenger asked, "Do you prefer The Garden or the original Al Mourjan lounge in Doha?" Travelers with long connections risk missing flights if they underestimate transit time from the lounge.
