Panera Bread Revamps MyPanera Loyalty Program with Points System and New Sip Club Limits

Panera Bread has launched a revamped MyPanera loyalty program, shifting from a personalized rewards system to a points-based model. Members now earn points on eligible purchases, which can be redeemed for specific rewards. Additionally, frequent customers can unlock a new MyPanera+ status tier by spending $300 in a calendar year. However, the changes also include a new limit on Sip Club drink redemptions, capping them at 30 per month.

## Earning and Redeeming Points

Under the new MyPanera program, members earn 10 points per dollar spent on eligible food and beverage purchases. Points are calculated after discounts and rewards, excluding taxes, fees, tips, catering orders, gift cards, Panera at Home products, and Sip Club subscription fees. Rewards start at 250 points, with higher-tier redemptions requiring up to 2,000 points. Points balances are capped at 50,000, and only one reward can be redeemed per transaction.

Existing members can earn a 500-point bonus for a qualifying purchase by September 1, while new members can earn 500 points within 14 days of enrolling. The redemption rates vary, but members are advised to redeem rewards for items they would purchase anyway.

## MyPanera+ Status

Frequent Panera Bread customers can now earn MyPanera+ status by spending $300 in a calendar year. This status is valid for the remainder of the year it is earned and the following calendar year. Benefits include a free You Pick Two combo as a birthday reward instead of a bakery treat and 12 points per dollar spent on qualifying Panera delivery orders.

## Changes to Panera Sip Club

Panera Sip Club subscribers now face a monthly limit of 30 drink redemptions, in addition to the existing one-drink-per-two-hour rule. This change may affect heavy users who frequently visit Panera Bread locations. The terms and conditions specify that monthly subscribers receive up to 30 redemptions per billing cycle, while annual subscribers receive up to 30 redemptions per rolling 30-day period from the annual subscription start date.

## Points Expiration

MyPanera points expire after 180 days of inactivity. However, points remain active as long as the account is used for eligible purchases, point redemptions, or Sip Club beverage redemptions at least every 180 days.

The revamped MyPanera program offers a more transparent way to earn and redeem rewards, with a sample return on spending ranging from 7% to 9%. While the MyPanera+ status provides additional benefits, the new 30-drink limit for Sip Club subscribers may reduce the program's appeal for its most frequent users.
