Air India A350 Business Class Delivers on Short Delhi-Mumbai Hop
A recent Air India A350-900 business class flight from Delhi to Mumbai offered a full suite experience on a 2h25m journey.

A two-hour, twenty-five-minute flight from Delhi to Mumbai showcased Air India's premium A350-900 business class product. Flight AI 2933 departed Delhi at 3:30 PM on Saturday, July 4, covering 705 miles before a scheduled 5:55 PM arrival in Mumbai.
The Airbus A350-900, originally intended for Aeroflot, features a 1-2-1 business class layout with 28 suites. Behind them sit 24 premium economy and 264 economy seats. The switch to this earlier A350 flight allowed the passenger to arrive in Mumbai about two hours ahead of their original booking.
Business Class Product Features
Each private suite provides direct aisle access and a sliding door. The seat converts into a fully flat bed measuring six feet, six inches long. It is the Collins Aerospace Horizon product, also found on some Turkish Airlines A350s.
Every suite includes a personal wardrobe, a vanity, and a storage cabinet. For power and comfort, passengers have a universal AC outlet, a USB-A socket, and an individual air vent.
Passenger Experience and Service
After a brief 15-minute visit to the Air India domestic lounge, boarding began at 2:45 PM. Pre-departure beverages were offered promptly. Sonal, the purser, who took care of my side of the aisle, oversaw service.
A printed menu presented four meal choices. The reviewer selected the Indian option, Amritsari Choley Tikki, describing it as delicious and hearty. The meal service included sparkling water and later mint tea, with two hot towels provided during the journey. Alcohol is not served on Air India's domestic flights.
Disposable headphones were supplied, though the airline offers superior noise-cancelling headphones on its long-haul services. The inflight entertainment system held hundreds of movies, TV shows, audio selections, and games. Live views from the tailcam and nosecam were available. Complimentary Wi-Fi, provided by Nelco, functioned well throughout the flight.
Booking and Change Details
The journey was secured using frequent flyer points. The reviewer originally booked first class on an Air India Boeing 777-300ER using 25,000 Air Canada Aeroplan points. They then switched to this A350-900 flight for fewer points but paid a change fee.
| Booking Aspect | Detail |

The reviewer was highly satisfied with the decision. "I voluntarily gave up first class to take this flight and was very glad I did."
