JetBlue Launches BlueFirst Cabin with Elite Upgrades in 2027
JetBlue will introduce a new domestic first-class cabin called BlueFirst in 2026, offering unlimited complimentary upgrades to all TrueBlue Mosaic members and JetBlue Premier Cardholders starting in 2027.

JetBlue will introduce a new domestic first-class cabin, BlueFirst, with complimentary unlimited upgrades for all elite status members when seats are available starting in 2027. The airline announced the first BlueFirst seats will appear on planes in December 2026, marking a major shift in its domestic premium travel offering. Standard complimentary upgrades into the airline's Mint business-class cabin will not be offered.
Elite upgrade priority and certificate changes
Upgrade priority for the new BlueFirst cabin will follow a strict hierarchy based on elite tier. Mosaic 4 members will receive the highest priority, followed by Mosaic 3, Mosaic 2, Mosaic 1, and finally JetBlue Premier cardholders who do not hold Mosaic status. One companion may also upgrade with a Mosaic member. JetBlue Premier cardholders without status must pay for their fare with the JetBlue Premier card to be eligible for an upgrade.
A new type of upgrade certificate will be introduced. Premium Upgrade Certificates will replace previous upgrade certificates and are usable for both BlueFirst and Mint cabins. They can be redeemed after booking, up to two hours before departure, subject to availability.
| Mosaic Tier | Tiles Required | Premium Upgrade Certificates Earned |
|---|---|---|
| Mosaic 3 | 150 | 4 (upon reaching tier) |
| Mosaic 4 | 250 | 4 additional (upon reaching tier) |
Travelers booking base main cabin or EvenMore fares are not eligible for any complimentary upgrades. The changes to upgrade certificates will take effect February 1, 2027.
Companion and cabin eligibility details
The BlueFirst cabin will be installed on all JetBlue aircraft that do not have Mint lie-flat business class cabins. This positions BlueFirst as the carrier's primary domestic premium product on most routes. TrueBlue status qualification requirements will remain unchanged.
| Status Tier | Tiles Required for Qualification |
|---|---|
| Mosaic 1 | 50 |
| Mosaic 2 | 100 |
| Mosaic 3 | 150 |
| Mosaic 4 | 250 |
Perk changes and discontinuations
A new Perks You Pick menu will add one-time passes to BlueHouse lounges in New York City and Boston, available exclusively to Mosaic 4 members. The pet fee waiver will become a signature perk starting at Mosaic 2 status.
Several current perks will be discontinued in 2027. These include Mint Studio suite priority, a $99 statement credit on eligible JetBlue credit cards, FoundersCard membership, and IHG One Rewards elite status. The changes to the Perks You Pick menu will also take effect on February 1, 2027.
